USAP bans JOOLA Mod TA-15 from tournament play
The JOOLA paddle drama continues.
After the USAP announced a new sweep of paddles that have exceeded testing standards, the JOOLA Perseus 14mm Mod TA-15 and JOOLA Perseus 16mm Mod TA-15 are in the lineup. These paddles will be removed from certification for sanctioned play starting July 1, 2025.
In response, JOOLA stated in an Instagram post that they are retiring the MOD TA-15 Perseus as one of its competition paddles.
“The new guidelines state that any paddle previously testing greater than 0.44 in the PB-CoR test will no longer be eligible for use in USAP-sanctioned events,” they said in their statement.
“The decision is part of JOOLA’s commitment to uphold and meet current industry standards, as we feel it is in the best interest of pickleball,” it read.
Now, the production of new MOD TA-15 has ceased but the paddle is still available for purchase while supplies last.
In March 2025, JOOLA plans to launch a new Pro Series of paddles to meet the new 2025 testing standards of both the UPA-A and USAP.
Additionally, customers who purchased a JOOLA Mod TA-15 Perseus from November 1, 2024 through March 1, 2025, will receive a 50% discount on a Pro 4 Perseus Paddle as part of JOOLA’s Paddle Refresh Program.
And the JOOLA Pro 4 Perseus dual-certified paddles will be eligible for play in all PPA/MLP and USAP-sanctioned events in 2025.
